Man doesn't live on bread alone

Each afternoon, if we can, Chad and I have been trading babies. This usually requires one of the Aunties (Alberta, Corinne or Tia Velia) to come over to our house while Chad drives to Cooks. He and I trade places at the hospital, then I go home to shower and spend time with Noah. What's so cool about this is that we get to see the differences in our parenting styles and the kids get one-on-one time with us.

Last night was particularly cool for a couple of reasons -
Chad with Omi
Chad arrived at the hospital around 7pm with some fresh bread that Velia had made for me. I was stoked. I love bread (who doesn't?). I ate some before leaving it with Chad and heading home to Noah.
Well, Naomi had her new IV in. So Chad was going to see if she wanted to eat or drink anything. She ate some banana and acted full. Then Chad brought out the fresh bread. He said she couldn't get enough of it. She LOVED it. Chad said he cut her off when she started playing with it instead of eating it. She was still signing "more" when he was cuddling her to go to bed.

She still isn't drinking, but she we believe breads may be the key to getting her to eat her 4 oz per meal so the Dr.'s are happy and she can go home.

Now, I know a bread diet is not healthy. I mean, Jesus even said man doesn't live on bread alone. So - if any of you have any really healthy bread recipes, or would like to make a healthy bread for me to feed to Naomi when we get home (so I can suppliment her diet) I'd appreciate it.

Thank you!

Marie with Noah
When I got home, Noah was cuddling with Tia Velia. (sidenote: Chad and her husband's family have been friends for decades. She is a CNA, and the babies love her. So do I!) Anyhoo - I showered to get rid of all those nasty hospital germs and went to cuddle and bf him. Poor guy had a 101.8 fever so we gave him some Motrin. It went down to 99.8. We cuddled for over 2 hours. He napped on my chest. I could hear wheezing, so I patted his back the way they taught me at the hospital. It helped a lot. Velia agreed to come over Tuesday to help with Noah, so she went home around 9pm. She wasn't even out the door when Alberta and Corinne came over.

They helped by putting Noah's antibiotic ear drops in while I packed up some fruits and a paring knife to take to Omi's room. I also grabbed her Arbonne baby soap since the Johnson and Johnson's at the hospital aggravates her skin.

I got to hold him again and rock him to sleep. He had stopped wheezing. I made sure there was water in his humidifier and Corinne held down the fort while I went back to the hospital.

Chad and Marie
Chad is getting sick. Both of us are slowly getting run down, but he is getting genuinely sick. Please pray for him (and me) to stay well. The doctors say this is a virus that lasts 10 days to 10 weeks, so we should plan on about 40 days of CPT and cranky babies.

Thanks for the prayers. I'll keep posting on Facebook. Text me if you want updates via phone (without facebook).

In Him,
Marie
