Today is my husband rocks Friday.
OK, lets start with Monday of last week - Chad was sick and he listened to me and called off of work and stayed home to take care of himself. He cuddled the children and slept most of the day. Tuesday, he listened to me again, and stayed home. I am glad he is actually using his sick days instead of going to work ill, and staying ill. Chad normally works Sunday - Thursday, so he was literally missing half his work week... not easy for a guy to let himself do.
Ok, so Wednesday - my husband was such a blessing. My DH sent me and our babies to my parent's house in Abilene. What makes this extraordinary is that Chad was at work when I asked him. He loves me, but he adores our babies. This was a sacrifice for him to let us go away. Instead of complaining that life gave him lemons, he made lemonade. He ended up helping out a co-worker while that guy was on vacation by going in on Thursday, so he had "extra" work to do. He caught up on cases and came to Abilene to join me on Friday night.
My mom (and dad) were elated to have the company. The babies definately helped Mom recover from procedures on Wednesday.
Another amazing Chad thingie was that we drove home on Saturday night, he went to work on Sunday, and then we went back to Abilene for Memorial Day. Mom and Dad had a bunch of people coming in from out of town for Memorial Day, so it was really important to them that we make it for the Memorial Day barbeque. Chad knew about this trip when he volunteered to travel back and forth the week before. Considering it is a 2 1/2 hour trip each way, this too was a sacrifice.
The thing is, Chad knows how important family and security are to me.
He prioritized his health (which hits on both family and security)
He prioritized my parents (which hits on family, and his support makes me feel safe)
He prioritized our family (which is so consistant for him, I am secure in our relationship)
Oh yeah, and he sent me shopping with my sister and niece when we were in Abilene. I had so much fun. My husband rocks -- I know I'm blessed.
